As many of you know by now, Adobe MAX 2011 is happening in downtown L.A Oct 1st – 5th.

This year there is a lot of great content for all of those Flash ( and non Flash ) game developers out there.

Here is a quick summary of the gaming sessions and labs currently scheduled for the show:

I will continue updating the post as the list increases/changes.

I look forward to meeting all of you over there.

Today Adobe has launched a new URL for all those out there doing Flash based game development.

There is lots of great content there, such as getting started tutorials, advanced videos, cookbooks, documentation and books, examples, featured games, and much more.

Molehill, Flash Player‘s next generation set of low-level, GPU-accelerated 3D APIs, allows developers to bring impressive new experiences to the Web.

My good friend Lee Brimelow just released a very cool video that summarizes some of the prototypes already available that leverage the Molehill API.

The possibilities are endless!!!

Enjoy it!!!

I start the week bright and early (Sunday 5:30 am in San Francisco ) getting ready for 6 days of non-stop gaming.

Today I will spend the day at the Flash Gaming Summit. Organized by Mochimedia, this event brings the best of the best in Flash game development together in one single location. Looking forward to the keynote and the other sessions throughout the day.

But the big event of the week is obviously the Game Developers Conference starting this coming Monday. It will be my first GDC show and I am really excited about it.

The gaming industry has changed a lot lately, and with the recent shift and advancements in mobile/tablet devices, and the omnipresence of the word “social”,  this show is going to be super interesting.

As I said…let the games begin!!!

As my good friend Lee Brimelow recently mentioned in this blog entry, going forward I will be focusing more and more into building games with the Flash Platform.

Part of this new role entails absorbing and learning all the technologies and techniques that surrond the exciting gaming industry.

Blogs are clearly a great way to quickly learn and get up to speed. After looking around, I immediately added Emanuele Feronato’s blog to my blog roll.

In one of his latest tutorials he deep dives into building PopCap games with Flash, in particular Plants vs Zombies

So if you are into gaming, into programing, into Flash, and into PopCap, be sure to follow Emanuele’s posts.

Enjoy!!!

Pretty cool project for those gamers out there wanting to connect Flash games and apps with Microsoft Kinect.

To read more about it check Serge Jesper’s blog entry here.
